The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

That is too cool! It depresses me to think about my long lost sx-70, but hey, garage sale season is fast approaching, perhaps I'll get lucky this summer!

It was nice to finally get an explanation of that pre-exposure sound, I guess I never realized it was an SLR.
